Let's Crawl

Last night we did a pub crawl in central London! Well, sort of. We only ended up going to two pubs, so I don't know if you can call that a real pub crawl. I think we started too late, next time we will start really early so we can make it to all the pubs. It was a fun night anyway! We met lots of new people and had a great time! No fights this time, so that was good. And I got lots of free shots! Now that's what I call a good night.

Earlier in the week, George and I made a new friend, Fiona, when we stopped in a pub to avoid rush hour after class on Wednesday. She is really cool and is going to show us around Soho, Covent Garden, and Chinatown next week! She also bought us shots of Southern Comfort, mm mmm mmmm.

Fiona, George, and me at Wetherspoon's, our favorite pub because it's so cheap!
I also went to Harrods on Monday as I said I would. It is so beautiful there! It's a huge store of all the high end designers. I was drooling over all the beautiful clothes and shoes, but, don't worry, I didn't get any drool on them! I can't wait for Christmas time. It will be so fun to walk around Harrods when its all decorated for the holidays! Oh how I wish I had enough money to buy things from there!

Classes this week went as usual.  We went to the Tate Modern again this week, but this time we were looking at the Surrealism gallery.  We studied paintings by the likes of Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, and Pablo Picasso.  We also had to turn in an essay on Cubism, Futurism, and Vorticism, and how Cubism influenced the other two.  Mine was a little shorter than it was supposed to be, but quality is better than quantity!
This is my favorite: "Metamorphosis of Narcissus" by Salvador Dali
I got to write a couple more blogs this week at my internship! It is really my favorite thing to do.  And it's great to be adding those to my portfolio for future reference. I also learned about the project I'm going to be working on with Laura.  Johnson King recently landed a new client, Connect, for a 3-month trial basis.  So now we have to show them that they chose the right PR firm.  I am going to be meeting the CEO, Mark, possibly next week, and the week after my midterm break we are hosting Connect's launch event in which there will be lots of journalists to talk to.  Basically, we want to make sure that Connect is well-known in the journalism world. It's very exciting!

I have also been working with other teams, basically just helping them with any task they need done, like putting together features lists or media coverage analysis, that sort of stuff. PR is turning out to be something I really enjoy! Although, ideally, I would like to do PR work in the fashion industry. :)

I have also been talking to Ethos, the magazine I worked for over the summer, about writing a few pieces for the website about my journey abroad.  I was thinking I could write a piece about Great Britain, and then a piece about my trip to Milan and Barcelona. There's lots of writing going on!

I also recently received an email from AHA wondering if any students have a travel blog they would like to submit to them for their website. My mother sent me an email saying, "Do not, I repeat, do not, send her to your blog!  I don't think it's what she has in mind!!  Ha ha!!  (If any other parents read it, the AHA program will be at an end!)."

Oh come on, my blog isn't that bad... :)

  2. No, your blog is "not that bad", but maybe a little too wild and wooly for the "powers that be"! And don't worry, honey, we'll be sure to shop Harrod's together during Thanksgiving week - yippee!
    Love, Mom

  3. The Ducks took down Stanford. Quack! MSU beat Wisconsin and the Packers won today. It was a great weekend for football. Get to bed early before your meeting with the CEO from Connect. It was nice to Skype with you the other day. Love you!
