Peter Rabbit

Yesterday I went to the Victoria & Albert Museum to wander through the Fashion Gallery. To my dismay, the Fashion Gallery was closed. So I decided to go look through the Photography Gallery and some of the Art Galleries.  The Photography Gallery is quite small, but there is some great work in there.  While meandering through the Art Galleries I came upon a room completely dedicated to Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit.  I walked around the room and read the whole story and looked at the illustrations.  It was a great way to reminisce about my childhood!

Last night, our entire group minus 4 people went on a pub crawl! We started at Elephant and Castle and proceeded get off at every stop on the Bakerloo tube line to go to a pub.  We only made it to 10 out of 28 stops because we got tired of switching pubs.  Somehow I only spent 6 pounds and was relatively wasted by the end of the night. Hmm. It was a great night!

An Afternoon in Mayfair

So today, after sleeping in and being lazy until about 1pm, I decided to look through my London guide book and find something to do for the day.  After perusing through the pages for a few minutes, I came upon the "guided walks" section, one of which was Mayfair.  Mayfair has been the neighborhood of the aristocracy for centuries, and it had some very interesting and fun things to see.

I took the tube to Piccadilly Circus, and from there began my walk down Piccadilly Street.  I found St. James Market, a cute little square crowded with vendors selling jewelry, purses, hats, antiques, and African masks.  African masks? Yes, African masks.  There was one vendor who sold real African masks, and I have to say, while being in the process of looking for an apartment in Eugene, I was tempted to buy one to hang on my wall.  Fortunately, I didn't bring any money with me, so no African mask pour moi!

After browsing around the market, trying on jewelry and admiring artwork, I left to find my way to the Royal Academy of Arts, which I entered, but then found that they wanted you to pay money to see the artwork, so I quickly left.

I continued walking down Piccadilly Street, passed Fortnum & Mason, and turned to walk through something called The Arcade.  Once on the other side, I found myself at Ralph Lauren, so I thought I would pay him a visit.  I didn't realize how much I liked Ralph Lauren until I went into this shop; everything was so beautiful! I especially loved his shoes and sunglasses.  After slowly browsing around the store, I stepped out the doors and found myself facing Salvatore Ferragamo, so I decided to pay him a visit as well.  The men who worked there were very nice, asking me how my day was going and if I needed help finding anything.  Of course I told them that was just looking around for Christmas list items.  If you're going to go into these nice shops, you have to play the part! Luckily, I was wearing my Michael Kors blazer, my snakeskin kitten heels, and my Coach purse, so I looked the part as well!

I stepped out of Salvatore Ferragamo and found myself facing Chanel, so I thought I would pay her a visit as well.  This same situation happened several more times, and I somehow found myself walking through the doors of Tiffany's, Michael Kors, and Burberry.  How odd!

All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon with my greatest friends!

Ministry of Sound

Last night was my friend George's birthday and he took 3 of us to Ministry of Sound VIP! I have to say, I really did feel like a very important person. We had 280 pounds to spend at the bar, and that 280 pounds was gone within an hour. We all decided to come up with fake names and personalities for the night. We were all fabulous people: I was Olivia, the fashion designer from New York; Krista was Penelope, the artist from Seattle; George was Sebastien, a prince from Singapore; and I can't remember what Michael's name was but he was a model from L.A. I was in London supporting my new line, Sebastien was the money behind the line, Michael was one of my models, and Penelope's art was my inspiration. We had a great time and we all looked great!

Earlier this week our program took a day trip to Canterbury, home of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales! We toured through the beautiful cathedral and walked around the city, it was so pretty!

I can't believe I'm going to be leaving this wonderful city in only 5 weeks! I really am going to miss it and the friends I've made here.

Happy Halloween!

It's Halloween today! One of my favorite holidays. I will be repping Oregon football tonight, wearing my Oregon jersey, some Nikes, a headband, and some sunglasses! I'm so excited! Last night the crew all went to George's house for a scary movie night and charades.  It was hilarious! The charades were just ridiculous! I had to act out Kool-Aid, Shitting Oreos, Hide and Go Seek by yourself, and many other ridiculous things. My abs actually are a little sore from laughing so hard at the shenanigans!

On Friday, the whole program went on a day trip to Bath.  It really isn't as cool as they make it sound. We toured through the Abbey and then through the Baths. I took some cool photos!

Ciao! Hola!

I just got back from my Fall Break trip to Milan and Barcelona! Both cities were amazing! Kaeline and I ate our hearts out in Milan, and then went to Barcelona to party with the rest of the crew! We met some interesting people: a few different people from Australia, some girls from Columbia, and some American students who were studying abroad in France. It was a great trip that I will never forget! There are a lot of photos, so here are the ones from Milan. We walked around a lot, we went and saw the Duomo and other sights. It was a successful trip!

Ok, and here are the photos from Barcelona. Unfortunately, my camera died on the third day, so there aren't quite as many. Barcelona is an absolutely beautiful city! It is one of my favorites! I did a lot of walking around, and we trekked up to Mount Tibidabo one day. My camera died before that, so there aren't any pictures of it :(.
